It's not you, it's me (I think)

You can see the lacy holes straight on, but they disappear easily. And this lacy sock was going fine until row 13, when I would *lose a stitch somewhere, unknit it, try again.* Repeat from * to * approximately a dozen times. Nevermind that row 13 is the same as row 3, and that went fine. Argh.
