I used David Lebovitz's recipe here but left out an egg. The ice cream did taste rather custardy, so I'll probably leave out two eggs if I make it again. I used local (within 30 miles) cream and eggs. It tasted good, and I got a bit of a workout by turning the crank.

Mmm. ice cream.
Your link to Inspector Lewis leads to an announcement that Alan Cummings is the new host of Mystery. Love Inspector Lewis. Alan Cummings, not so much.
YOU HAVE A BLOG?!
I don't care who the host is; I'm just glad PBS listened to the fans and got one again. I think he's just the host for this little run of Mystery episodes, though.

heh heh heh
Your mom has a blog??
Which reminds me...my mom reads mine but I didn't know it until my dad mentioned that she'd read something on the blog.
Anyway, I came to comment on ice cream. I want some. Of the homemade variety. I shall resist the urge to go buy the ice cream attachment for my Kitchenaid. Every time I see a picture of it, I want it. But I make too many desserts as it is. I don't need to add ice cream to the repertoire.
If I didn't already have this almost-20-year-old manual ice cream maker, I might have bought the KA attachment or an electric machine. But I kind of like the hand-cranking. I tell myself it burns off enough calories to make up for eating the ice cream. Yeah, right.
