Welcome, fall

Cooler temps (my feet are cold and I'm wearing handknit socks!) are here, which might up the amount of knitting around here. Actually, there's been a decent amount of knitting (and re-knitting). I'm two thirds of the way done with my quarter of a blanket that will be at a charity auction at the end of the month. I need to finish it pronto, obviously. (No, I'm not the farthest behind!) I'm still working out gauge issues for the last square, which will be in blue. Knitting three 12x12 squares in a row sounded like a piece of cake but was a somewhat frustrating lesson in gauge. Swatches lie. Once I get the magic number of stitches and needle size combo, I am sure I will zip along. I saw my fellow knitters' yarns last week for the first time--we all have shades of green, red, and blue. Two of the knitters are threatening to bid on the blanket themselves. I have no idea what it will go for.
